Troopers find more than 200 lbs of marijuana in Montgomery County traffic stop

  A massive amount of drugs was found being transported on Thursday through the mid-Missouri area. The Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped a car for a vehicle registration issue and for following others too closely on the eastbound I-70 in Montgomery County. The driver was identified as Briana A. Roberts. There was also a juvenile in a booster seat, who was not in a proper child restraint system. Troopers noticed numerous duffel bags in the cargo area Roberts told troopers that she was moving from Washington to Atlanta, Georgia. She claimed the duffel bags contained a large amount of clothing. Court documents state that Roberts displayed signs of nervousness. Troopers asked her if they could search her vehicle, but she denied consent. A search warrant was applied for the vehicle, and was signed by a judge. Drug more potent than fentanyl seized in Memphis

  MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The director of the West Tennessee Drug Task Force says agents seized one pound of the deadly drug, fluorofentanyl , and eight pounds of methamphetamine during an interdiction operation Tuesday. Director Johnie Carter said on December 9, agents with the West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force’s Criminal Interdiction Unit were working a special assignment at an undisclosed location in Memphis, where they seized the illicit substances. Fight breaks out in Whole Foods bakery section, caught on video

  A Los Angeles Whole Foods may need to expand its deli ... because a couple of customers had some major beef in the store, which resulted in a brutal brawl caught on video! The incident went down on Wednesday at the Downtown L.A. location ... and, video kicks off with the fight already in progress -- with two big dudes trying to wrestle each other to the ground. While security half-heartedly tries to break up the fight, slowly trailing after the pair, one guy throws the other into a tower of pastries ... knocking the mountain of snacks to the ground. The two men end up on the floor, too ... eventually, guards can break up the pair, though they have to work hard to keep the guys from launching right back into their unscheduled boxing match. Woman accused of forging, cashing $6k plumbing company check

  Danyel Ganey , Courtesy of Shelby County Jail MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is accused of forging and depositing a check of over $6,000 from a plumbing firm. Danyel Ganey, 24, has been charged with theft of property ($2,500-$10,000), Criminal Simulation , Forgery ($2,500-$10,000), Use of a Counterfeit Mark or Logo , and Identity Theft .  MPD said on Sept. 24, National Economy Plumbers filed a report that said they received a notification from the bank stating that the name on a check for $4,209.58 was altered and cashed for $6,209.58 by Danyel Ganey on August 13. Officers said the person who filed the report said she did not know Ganey, and the business did not write her a check. Investigators said on Nov. 3, they found that Ganey was the owner of the bank account where the fraudulent check from National Economy Plumbers, Inc. was deposited. Police said that Ganey’s account had an ending balance of $30.40 on Aug. 12 before the check was deposited into her account.

Tennessee bans candy, soft drinks and more from SNAP benefits in 2026

  A state waiver approved by USDA will prohibit candy, soft drinks, and processed foods in which sugar is the most prominent ingredient. Retailers express concerns about implementation costs and lack of guidance. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tennessee residents using SNAP benefits will face new restrictions on their grocery purchases starting July 31, 2026 , after the U.S. Department of Agriculture approved a state waiver banning candy, soft drinks, and certain processed foods. Specifically, the ban will prohibit SNAP recipients from purchasing soft drinks, candy, and any processed foods or carbonated drinks in which sugar is the most prominent ingredient. Governor Bill Lee 's office pursued the change through federal channels after similar legislation passed the Tennessee House but failed in the Senate earlier this year.
