Official Photos of the Air Jordan 6 'UNC' Releasing in time for March Madness.

Image
Throughout the years, Jordan Brand has regularly paid homage to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the  University of North Carolina , with special colorways of Air Jordan Retros. More recently, Air Jordans 1, 3, 4, 6, and 9 have all been released with splashes of the school’s famous University Blue, a trend that will continue into next year. According to  zSneakerheadz , another “UNC”  Air Jordan 6 Retro  is on the way, this pair is even more aligned with the Tar Heels’ iconic scheme. This pair will reportedly inherit “Carmine” color blocking, which means a white-based shoe filled with University Blue and bearing navy blue trim. zSneakerheadz also reports that a sample version of the shoe exists with black in place of navy, so the final execution of this upcoming retro is still to be determined. Lastly, we see the patch on the heel that’s been associated with school-inspired releases such as the “Oregon” and “Michigan” Air Jordan 5s, as well as the recent...

This Nike SB Dunk Low Is Cherry Flavored Part of the upcoming 'Fruity Pack.'

Image
The upcoming Nike SB “Fruity Pack,” rumored to be linked to 4/20, consists of several fruit-themed colorways of the  Nike SB Dunk . Following leaked images of a  “Pineapple” SB Dunk High  and “Apple” and  “Blueberry” SB Dunk Lows , a fourth shoe from the collection has surfaced. A direct take on the fruit itself, the “Cherry” SB Dunk Low mixes red hues on a leather and suede arrangement. Like the other shoes it's aligned with, the pair is marked by cherry logo patches on the backside of the tongues. A white midsole and maroon rubber outsole finish off the look below. If the collection is connected to 4/20, one would assume the fruit-inspired colorways represent different marijuana strains. Neither that bit of information nor the  release date  for these Dunks has been confirmed, but we’ll keep you updated throughout the coming months. Michael Jordan’s ‘Dunk Sole’ Air Jordan 1 PE From 1986 Is Up For Auction

Image
Another rare pair of Air Jordans game-worn by a young  Michael Jordan  has hit the auction block. These “Chicago”  Air Jordan 1s  listed by  Heritage Auctions  are definitively photo-matched to a game against the Milwaukee Bucks on April 1, 1986. That date is significant because it’s after Michael Jordan returned from the broken left foot he suffered earlier in the season. In part, experts were able to match this pair to that exact game by noticing a production defect—a missing third eyelet on the medial side of the right shoe, which resulted in Jordan skipping that same eyelet on the lateral side when he laced up. More importantly, these Air Jordan 1s are tooled with the midsole and outsole you’ll recognize from the Nike Dunk, rather than the standard Air Jordan 1 sole. When Jordan was recovering from his injury, Nike experimented with several different variations of the model to help him heal, including a pair  locked in with a strap , another...

'Denim' Air Jordan 1 High Reportedly Releasing in June First look at the women's exclusive colorway.

Image
There are no signs of  Air Jordan 1  releases slowing down as  Jordan Brand  reportedly has another pair on the way—this time a new women’s exclusive version. According to  @zSneakerheadz,  there’s a “Denim” iteration of the model dropping in June. Given its far-out release date, a first look at the style has yet to surface but the mockup depiction from the trusted leaker account suggests that it will feature an OG-styled blocking with white leather at the base of the upper while blue denim covers the overlay panels. The shoe is also rumored to feature a special gold dubrae at the forefoot. This isn’t the first time that the Air Jordan 1 donned denim as the model was released in the  “Family First”  iteration in 2014 as well as a low-top  “Washed Denim”  colorway in 2020. There was even  Levi’s collaboration  back in 2008.  There’s no official sneaker release date available yet for this women’s exclusive “...

5 Live Performance Hacks To Help You Stand Out Every Time

Image
You can already picture it. Stepping onto the stage and looking out into the audience, you dream of seeing hundreds—no—thousands of faces staring back at you, screaming with excitement as you take the stage, singing every word back to you. An audience that feels the same way about your music as you feel about your favorite band’s music. It’s the dream. And honestly, it’s well within your reach. But there are a few things you need to line up first, and among the most important is to have a live show that has people wanting to come back for more every single time. How do you do that? Build up the hype—before and after the show Most people need to see the same thing an average of 7 times before it really sticks—before they truly take notice. That’s why we’re often inundated with the same ads over and over again because advertisers know this. And it works. Your business (that’s your music career)—and the way you promote things are no different. You need to remind your audience of wha...

4 Common Excuses Keeping Artists From Pursuing Music

Image
What success means in music will inevitably be completely different for each of us, but we won’t get to where we want to go with our music if we don’t do the work as serious musicians. Whether you’re working towards becoming a professional songwriter or just want to write and rehearse enough songs to play a live show at a local venue, you’ll need to put in plenty of work to reach your goals. The trouble is that we often let excuses keep us from pursuing music the way we wish we could. These are four common ones to look out for that artists often cite when they talk about what’s keeping them from succeeding.  I don’t have enough time Let’s start with a major excuse that every musician on the planet can come up with at some point in their lives. Most musicians are not full-time professionals and even the ones who are still lead busy lives. Time management is a skill you have to learn if you want to be a serious musician. Life will always get in the way of your music if you don...

How Music Makes Listeners Feel Seen And Understood

Image
Every time you release a new single or album, you’re not just giving people music to listen to. Music has a unique ability for forging powerful connections between artists and listeners. And, believe it or not, these connections can happen whether you’re an artist big enough to sell out arenas or are releasing your first couple of singles and are unknown to most listeners. Your next song could easily be a huge source of comfort, understanding, and visibility for the people who hear it.  How an unguarded creative process builds authentic connections in music Why do people listen to music? This is an incomprehensibly large and complicated question to ask when you stop and think about it. Music serves countless different purposes in cultures around the world ranging from marking holiday traditions to getting crowds excited for sporting events to celebrating births and grieving deaths. But there’s something especially intimate and special about a person listening to their favorite arti...
