'Midnight Navy' Air Jordan 6 Release Date Has Been Confirmed Expected to release in May.

Image
One of the earlier Air Jordan retros, the “Midnight Navy”  Air Jordan 6  debuted in October 2000, when colorways that weren’t original were labeled Retro +. This variation has been absent from retail for more than 20 years but appears to be in line for a 2021 comeback. ZSneakerheadz  reports that the “Midnight Navy” Jordan 6 is on the launch calendar for Holiday 2021. Blocked like original colorways such as “White Infrared,” “Sport Blue” and “Maroon,” the shoe features white leather construction, contrasted by hits of navy blue on the tongue, rear pull tab, lace locks, and detailing along with the midsole and outsole. It’s not known whether this year’s retro will feature the Jumpman or ‘Nike Air’ on the heel. It figures to be a strong year for the Jordan 6, with a  “Bordeaux” colorway  on the way, as well as  Travis Scott’s “British Khaki” collaboration . There’s not an announced release date for the “Midnight Navy” pair yet, but we’ll keep you ...

What to Say and Do When You Meet a Publisher for the First Time

Image
Back in the days when songwriting success was a distant dream, each time I met with a music publisher, I was a nervous wreck leading up to that meeting. I hoped the publisher would instantly recognize that my songs were destined to be GRAMMY-winning hits, and I would be offered a contract on the spot. Getting a “yes” represented a one-way ticket out of tedious temp jobs and into the life of a professional songwriter. With so much riding on those meetings, I wanted to make the very best first impression. Let’s examine what to do and say when we initially meet with a publisher. Be On Time Nothing will get you started on a wrong foot more than showing up late. Give yourself extra time for traffic and other unexpected delays. Have Lyric Sheets Available Ask if the publisher would like to see a lyric sheet. Not every publisher will want one, but many will, so it is best to have a lyric sheet available for each song you play. Lyric sheets should be typed and should provide the writers’...

A Ma Maniere's Air Jordan 2 Collab Is Officially Releasing in May Official details announced.

Image
It was another landmark year for  A Ma Maniére , which made noise with two significant Air Jordan collaborations. The AMM x Air Jordan 3 took the top spot on Complex’s  Best Air Jordans of 2021  list and will likely be strongly positioned when the overall list drops. More recently, AMM dropped its Air Jordan 1 High, which has been well-received as well. It appears that the boutique’s momentum will carry into the new year with another opportunity to rework an early Air Jordan model. zSneakerheadz  reports that an A Ma Maniére x  Air Jordan 2  collaboration is in the works. Images of the shoe have not yet leaked, but the colorway description of sail, black, and burgundy is consistent with the AMM x Air Jordan 1. The supplied mock-up serves merely as a visual aid for what the shoe could look like, but we can probably expect the usual AMM addition of luxury details and materials when the shoe surfaces. Jordan Brand is in the midst of a big Jord...

11 Rules for Protecting Yourself (& Your Music) Pre-Release

Image
The music is mastered and the marketing plan is written, but are you prepared for release? Don’t let clearance issues, unrealistic expectations, or loose ends jeopardize your work. Here’s how to ensure your business goes smoothly, allowing you to prevent unwelcome surprises, control your rights, and collect your money. Note: To simplify things, I’m assuming the performing artist in this piece is not a songwriter and not self-producing. (I’ll tackle both in a follow-up.) While I’m identifying the most significant issues you should be alert to, I’m not an attorney, so there may be additional questions or issues specific to you and your record that you need to address. Timing is everything We may be in the era of on-demand music, but charging ahead with unresolved issues can put your release at risk. Also, distributors and aggregators require varying lead times; use them to set your deadlines, especially if you want to release your work to all platforms simultaneously. Take the time...
