Trophy Room's Air Jordan 7 Collaboration Revisits 1992 Olympics Details reference famous intrasquad scrimmage

Image
Bouncing back from the controversial “Freeze Out" Air Jordan 1, Marcus Jordan’s  Trophy Room  returns with its long-awaited follow-up collaboration, a fresh take on the “Olympic”  Air Jordan 7 . The Trophy Room 7 is a reimagination of Michael Jordan’s USA-themed sneakers for the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. Red and sail suede panels share the upper, with navy landing on the tongue, laces, and inner bootie. Gold hardware represents the Dream Team’s dominant run to the gold medal and the colors of the Olympic rings are displayed on the heel pull-tab. As usual, Marcus is adding another layer to his project via storytelling. Details on the shoe indicate that this collaboration is tied to the Dream Team’s famous pre-Olympic scrimmage in Monte Carlo when Jordan’s White Team took on Magic Johnson’s Blue Team. As the story is told, Jordan led a late comeback effort to carry his team to victory over Johnson and the blue. His message to Johnson and Larry Bird following t...

Dodger Blue Covers This New Nike SB Dunk Low Dodger Blue covers latest MLB-inspired release.

Image
Another prominent MLB franchise inspires an upcoming colorway of the  Nike SB Dunk Low , this time the 7-time world champion  Los Angeles Dodgers . Not to be confused with the non-SB  tribute to Jackie Robinson , this homage sees the Dunk Low dressed in a team-inspired palette of white and Dodger blue, the latter mostly laid out of suede panels on the upper. Hints of red fill logo hit on the tongue and heel, while a gum sole, both literally and figuratively, finishes off the look. No markings officially link this shoe to the Dodgers, but a palm tree and the famous ‘Welcome to Dodgers Stadium’ sign are depicted on the back of the tongues. This Dodgers pair  follows colorways tied to the  New York Mets ,  Philadelphia Phillies , and  San Francisco Giants . An official  release date  for the pack has not yet been announced. UPDATE (09/17):  After much anticipation, Nike confirms that this “Dodgers”-inspired SB Dunk Low will be releas...

'Argon' Nike Dunk Release Gets Pushed Back New release date announced

Image
As initially reported by  Complex Sneakers  in December, the classic  Nike Dunk Low  “Argon” is returning this year and now, we have a closer look at the forthcoming retro. Shown here is one of the retail photos of the “Argon” Dunk Low retro courtesy of  @US_11  on Twitter. This colorway was released exclusively in Japan in 2001 and is often linked to Nike’s  CO.JP  series of exclusive Dunks. Frequent Nike collaborator  Union LA  recently released its version of the color scheme via its three-shoe  “Passport Pack” Dunk Low  collab that dropped in April. The “Argon” Dunk Low retro is essentially a carbon copy of the original release, donning a two-tone blue leather upper that’s offset with a white Swoosh on the sides and matching shoelaces. Breaking up the look is a white midsole and a blue outsole. There are currently no release details available for this “Argon” Dunk Low retro but keep it locked to o...

Social Status' Nike Air Penny 2 Collab Arrives Next Week Charlotte-based boutique adds Carolina flair to the model

Image
In addition to  two upcoming colorways of the Air Max Penny 1 , The Whitaker Group retailer  Social Status  is adding to its Penny Hardaway collection with a set of  Air Penny 2s . Like the aforementioned Penny 1s, the Social Status x Nike Air Penny 2 will release in two contrasting colorways. The first uses a mix of sail and university blue on the upper with a white midsole, while the second is reminiscent of the sneaker’s original Orlando Magic colorway but replaces the royal blue with a lighter shade and adds subtle rose coloring. Unlike the Social Status x Air Max Penny 1’s removable Swoosh logos, the store’s take on the Penny 2 doesn’t appear to feature any major design changes, but it does come with a copper-colored keychain medallion in the shape of the sneaker and alternate lace options. Meanwhile, the reflective ankle pod features the Social Status logo intertwined with the Swoosh. The Social Status x Nike Air Penny 2 will rel...
