  Though much of what we remember about  Ken Griffey Jr.’s   career is tied to his time in Seattle, there was a 9-year stretch in Cincinnati that had its ups and downs but is still a significant part of the Hall of Famer’s story. Nike is remembering Griffey Jr.’s tenure with his hometown team by delivering a Reds-themed take on his first signature sneaker, the   Air Griffey Max 1 . Aligned with the team’s grey and red threads, the “Reds” Air Griffey Max 1 is styled in grey-toned nubuck, boldly offset with red hits in key areas such as the cross-strap, pull-tabs, and various branding hits. White also finds a home on the ‘24’ lettering, Swooshes, and midsole. Expect the “Reds” Air Griffey Max 1 to  release  sometime in early 2023.   New colorways of the  Air Jordan 1  continue to leak, and the newest pair is this “Skyline” makeup set to hit retail in early 2023. Newly leaked images of the “Skyline”  Air Jordan 1 High  were shared this week courtesy of  @Sneakertigger  on Instagram. This forthcoming style is said to be inspired by a classic photo of Michael Jordan performing the “Jumpman” pose in front of the Chicago skyline back in 1985. The shoe features a white-based leather upper but is offset by a gradient fade on the canvas overlay panels. There are no markings on the sneaker that confirm the purported inspiration of the color scheme.   It appears that  Michael Jordan’s  alma mater, the University of North Carolina, will once again serve as the inspiration for another  Air Jordan 1  colorway. According to trusted leaker account  @zSneakerheadz,  a new makeup dressed in a Tar Heels-inspired white, University Blue, and black color scheme will release in July. There are no images of the sneaker available at the time of writing, but the account shared a mockup depiction to give fans an idea of what’s hitting retail. The sneaker is expected to wear a  OG-styled “Black Toe”  color blocking, with University Blue dressing the heel counter, the toe box, and outsole.   After releasing a women’s exclusive  “Lucky Green” Air Jordan 1  in 2020,  Jordan Brand  will revisit the shade on a new men’s colorway next year. Said to be inspired by one of Michael Jordan’s greatest rivals, this new “Lucky Green” pair takes on Boston Celtics-appropriate coloring in the blocking of the original “Black Toe” Air Jordan 1. Leaked images shared by  @jfgrails  show what readers can expect when the pair drops next year including an all-leather upper that combines white and black with green filling in the heel and outsole along with matching shoelaces.
