CENTRAL PARK FIVE KOREY WISE BUYS $1 MILLION DOLLAR PENTHOUSE OVERLOOKING CENTRAL PARK

Life is coming full circle for Central Park Five’s own Korey Wise after news leaked he purchased a penthouse for $1 Million dollars overlooking Central Park. Almost 30 years ago Korey was charged with brutally raping a female jogger in Central Park, now he owns a $1 Million dollar penthouse overlooking the area he was falsey accused of committing a crime.
Wise was accused and convicted of brutally raping a jogger in NYC’s Central Park in 1989. His case would ultimately turn out to be a prime example of misserved justice and the overzealousness of New York’s D.A. office to convict Black teenagers.
Wise bought an 803-square-foot condo in a luxury building that has a view of the Manhattan skyline and the location at which he and four other teens had their lives changed forever.
Wise, along with Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Raymond Santana and Yusef Salaam received $41 million in 2014 after the group sued the state.

10 killed, 73 shot in bloodiest week of the year

CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS)  - A  violent weekend  capped off Chicago's bloodiest week of the year. From April 30 through May 6, 10 people were killed and 73 others were wounded in gun violence across Chicago. This latest outbreak of violence underscores how gunmen are literally getting away with crimes up to and including murder. Overwhelmed police detectives have 155 currently active investigations of 2018 homicides, while "solving" or "clearing" 27 cases, barely 17 percent.  The clearance rate has dropped steadily in recent years, leaving thousands of murders in the last decade unsolved and thousands of killers still on the street. Chicago Police used to solve more than 60 percent of murders, back in the 1990s. New York City cops still do. But the number of CPD detectives has been cut since then.  As Mayor Rahm Emanuel prepares to run for re-election, he'll swear in 100 new detectives later this month and promises 100 more by the end of the year. Rapper XXXTentacion (real name: Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy), who was  shot to death  at the age of 20 Monday, wasn’t yet a household name. But he was well on his way.
