Black Fur-Covered Air Jordan 4s Are Releasing This Month As part of Olivia Kim's 'No Cover' collection.
The rumored 2020 return of the "Black Cat" Air Jordan 4 was somewhat derailed this weekend, when images of an all-black colorway of the model covered in fur surfaced, indicating that the release will not be consistent with its predecessor. While that may be the case, new details about the newer makeup leave us with more questions than answers.
According to sneaker leaker Hanzuying, this version of the Jordan 4 will be delivered in women's sizes. Interestingly, the style code he provides differs from the style code for the rumored "Black Cats" that's been floating around. So, there's either some confusion there, or it's an entirely separate shoe.
While the initial belief was that the shoe was constructed in pony hair, Hanzuying says it's actually bovine fur. Another detail sneakerheads will take notice of is the presence of OG-style 'Nike Air' branding on the heel—a marking not often found on non-original colorways of the 4.
As of now, a release date for this women's shoe hasn't been announced, but we'll keep you updated as new information emerges.
UPDATE (10/17): Nike has announced that this stealthy fur-covered Air Jordan 4 will be part of the upcoming Olivia Kim x Nordstrom x Nike "No Cover" collection, which is scheduled to drop on Oct. 31 on the SNKRS app and at select Nordstrom and Nike locations.
