During halftime of Super Bowl XLVIII Usher took the stage for his highly anticipated performance. The singer ran through a medley of his biggest hits with a bevy of wardrobe changes for each section. For the last, a tribute to his hometown of Atlanta, Usher donned a sparkly Tron-inspired Off-White suit and a special pair of sneakers for the occasion.
On his feet was a noticeably chromed-out pair of Air Jordan 4s produced by noted customizer Dominic "The Surgeon" Ciambrone. Complex Sneakers is told that the chromed-out Jordans began as a collaborative concept developed between Usher and the team at Jordan Brand. Then, logistical issues prevented the shoes from behind created and delivered in time, leaving Usher to phone in a favor from Ciambrone.
The Air Force 1 is once again expected to be a part of this year's Halloween-themed releases from Nike via this new colorway previewed by @Swiftsole on Instagram. Switching things up from the multiple "Skeleton" Air Force 1 styles we've seen throughout the previous years, this upcoming "Halloween" Air Force 1 Low is equipped with a stealthy black tumbled leather upper that's paired with matching snakeskin-esque overlay panels. The sneaker also comes with special Jack-o'-lantern lace dubraes, ghoulish "Nike" branding on the tongue, as well as a green and grey outsole. In addition to the aforementioned Air Force 1, Nike is also releasing a Halloween-themed Ja 1 colorway coming out this fall. At the time of writing, release details for this "Halloween" Air Force 1 Low have yet to be announced by the brand but this pair is expected to hit retailers this fall in time for the holiday. Jordan Brand will collaborate with Nike SB on an Air Jordan 4 that’s scheduled to release in March 2023, a sneaker industry source tells Complex. News of the collaboration was first reported by Nice Kicks on Monday. According to Nice Kicks, the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 will have a heel tab bearing the Nike SB logo instead of the Nike Air or Jumpman logos. A source tells Complex that the SB-style Air Jordan 4 will be retooled for skateboarding. Years before the first Nike SB x Air Jordan project was released, there were rumors about Nike’s skateboarding division connecting with Michael Jordan’s Nike sub-brand. Joining the “Phantom” and “Medium Olive” colorways that are already scheduled to drop this month is this new “Magma Orange” iteration of the ever-popular model.
