'Grape' Air Jordan 5 Is Rumored to Return in April 2025 The original colorway is expected to return for its 35th anniversary.

It appears that the "Black Metallic" Air Jordan 5 won't be the only original colorway of the Jordan 5 returning in 2025. According to Sneaker Files and leaker @zSneakerheadz on Instagram, the "Grape" pair is making its way back next year.

There are no leaked images of the purported 2025 "Grape" Air Jordan 5 retro (style code: HQ7978-100) at the time of writing, and the shoe pictured here is an original pair from 1990.

According to the leaker account, the upcoming version will be true to the '90 release, featuring a white leather upper with emerald-colored "Nike Air" branding on the heel. The purple and emerald accents appear on the tongue and midsole, with a translucent outsole underneath. The sneaker is also expected to come in its original packaging.

Jordan Brand has re-released the "Grape" Air Jordan 5 a handful of times since 1990, with the most recent drop arriving in 2018. That version paid homage to Will Smith and his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air character, who typically wore his shoes on the show without shoelaces.

There is currently no concrete release date for next year's "Grape" Air Jordan 5 retro, but the shoe is expected to arrive sometime in the summer.

UPDATE (08/06): New details about the rumored "Grape" Air Jordan 5 retro have emerged. According to @Sneakermarketro and @zSneakerheadz on Instagram, the OG colorway will return on April 19, 2025, to celebrate the model's 35th anniversary. The rerelease will closely resemble the original 1990 pair and will also be available in full-family sizing.
