Three winning lottery tickets sold in Shelby Co.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! Three people in Shelby County gained a few extra bucks in their wallets Monday night, according to the Tennessee Lottery.
A 1 million dollar ticket was sold at the Food Mart located at 5665 Quince Road in Memphis. They matched 5 of the 6 numbers in the Powerball drawing. Someone else in Memphis won the $100,000 Power Play Monday night. That ticket was sold at the All-in-One Shelby located at 6434 East Shelby Drive. Lastly, someone in Germantown matched four of five numbers plus the Powerball in the Double Play drawing and won $50,000. That ticket was purchased at the Fast Gas at 9432 Poplar Avenue.
The Powerball jackpot has now jumped to an eye-popping $1.7 billion, after Tuesday night’s drawing passed without a big winner. The numbers drawn Monday night were 3, 18, 36, 41, 54, and the Powerball 7.
The next drawing will be on Christmas Eve, on Wednesday, with the prize expected to be the 4th-largest in U.S. lottery history.
