'Reverse Infrared' Air Jordan 6 Rumored to Release in February 2026 The 'Infrared' Jordan 6 sample from 2000 is reportedly releasing for the first time next year.

One of the most significant Air Jordans in Michael Jordan's illustrious career is reportedly returning in 2026.

According to leakers @Brandon1an and @Sneakermarketro on X, the "Black Infrared" Air Jordan 6 will re-release during the spring season next year. The sneaker was famously worn by MJ in 1991 during his first NBA championship run with the Chicago Bulls.

There are no leaked images of the purported retro at the time of writing, and the pair pictured above is the '19 version. According to the leaked info, the shoe will be true to the original 1991 form with "Nike Air" branding on the heel. The sneaker will don a black nubuck upper offset by infrared hits on the lace lock, the spoiler on the heel, and the midsole.

The 2026 version of the "Black Infrared" Jordan 6 will be the third time the style has featured "Nike Air" branding on the heel since the original '91 drop, including in 2000 and 2019.

Check back for concrete release info and early looks at the upcoming "Black Infrared" Air Jordan 6 retro in the coming months. UPDATE (03/25): Initially rumored to be a re-release of the OG "Black Infrared" Jordan 6, leakers Sneaker Files and @zSneakerheadz on Instagram have now revealed that the upcoming retro will resemble the "Reverse Infrared" sample, which appeared in EastBay's 2000 catalog but was never released to the public. The pair pictured above is the '00 sample—an early look at next year's version has yet to leak. Stay tuned for updates on official confirmation from the brand in the months ahead.
