Wisconsin dad threw 8-month-old baby at wall in rage because he was losing video game
A Wisconsin dad has been sentenced to more than a decade behind bars after he admitted to throwing his 8-month-old son against a wall because he was losing at a video game.
Jalin A. White, 22, pleaded guilty to one count each of physical abuse of a child and neglecting a child on Monday as part of a plea agreement in relation to the incident, which happened last year. On November 5, 2024, Milwaukee police officers and detectives responded to Children's Wisconsin Hospital to investigate a child abuse complaint. Earlier that day, White had been watching his son in a room he and the baby's mother rented in her parents' house, according to a criminal complaint. The father and baby were alone in the room, and the baby was in good health when the mother left to buy some marijuana, authorities said. It comes after a disturbed mom pushed her son on a swing for 44 HOURS until he died. When White's son's mom returned home, she found the baby boy in his playpen "making noises," according to the charging document. The infant was barely breathing, and his right arm was "twitching," the document adds.
The mother picked the baby up, and White "angrily" asked where she was taking him before she took him to her father, who told her to call 911, according to the complaint.
The baby was rushed to the hospital, where medics discovered he'd suffered skull fractures, hemorrhaging, six broken ribs that were at "different stages of healing," and a broken collar bone that was also already in the process of healing.
The baby was so severely injured that he had to be intubated. The infant lost a pulse, and the medical team had to administer multiple rounds of CPR.
