Clown-masked shooters kill Jackson business owner

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - A 41-year-old barber shop owner was shot and killed Sunday, at his Jackson business, by four men wearing clown masks, police say.

The shooting occurred just after 1 p.m. at the 3900 block of Bullard Street.
Relatives of the victim, grieving at the scene, tell WJTV 12 his name was Marcus Hamblin.
Hamblin had been sitting in his vehicle outside his storefront, when the masked men pulled up, got out, and fired several rounds into his upper torso, as he sat alone in the driver seat of his car.
Witnesses say police arrived three minutes after the firing ceased.
Shell casings collected by police, from the surrounding area, are believed to be that of a 9mm pistol.
Area business owners say they hid for their own safety when they heard rapid-fire shots at 1:13 p.m.
The shots are said to have sounded like “a machine gun.” The firing paused momentarily and then resumed.
Jackson Police are investigating Hamblin’s murder and encourage those who have information to not be scared and to come forward with what they know or may have seen.
The full story can be seen tonight at 9 p.m. on the CW network and at 10 p.m. on WJTV 12.

Sunday’s killing is the 76th homicide in the City of Jackson this year.
