Popular Baltimore rapper YGG Tay was arrested and charged with running a lucrative drug empire in the West Side of Baltimore. The agents cited the lyrics. “I be on the block like every day, collecting knot like every day,” Brown raps. “Me and Tay up on the interstate, in the rental with some Virginia plates.” Federal agents arrested the popular Baltimore rapper #YGGTay at a Cockeysville apartment Monday on charges he supplied heroin and cocaine to the murderous West Side “Trained to Go” drug crew and others for years. The rapper whose name is Davante Harrison was arrested with nearly $9,300 cash in a designer Dolce & Gabbana fanny pack and a loaded .40 caliber Glock pistol with an extended magazine, agents wrote in charging documents. They searched his rental car and allegedly found 3.2 grams of heroin and 8 grams of an unknown white powder.

10 killed, 73 shot in bloodiest week of the year

CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS)  - A  violent weekend  capped off Chicago's bloodiest week of the year. From April 30 through May 6, 10 people were killed and 73 others were wounded in gun violence across Chicago. This latest outbreak of violence underscores how gunmen are literally getting away with crimes up to and including murder. Overwhelmed police detectives have 155 currently active investigations of 2018 homicides, while "solving" or "clearing" 27 cases, barely 17 percent.  The clearance rate has dropped steadily in recent years, leaving thousands of murders in the last decade unsolved and thousands of killers still on the street. Chicago Police used to solve more than 60 percent of murders, back in the 1990s. New York City cops still do. But the number of CPD detectives has been cut since then.  As Mayor Rahm Emanuel prepares to run for re-election, he'll swear in 100 new detectives later this month and promises 100 more by the end of the year. Rapper XXXTentacion (real name: Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy), who was  shot to death  at the age of 20 Monday, wasn’t yet a household name. But he was well on his way.
