Official Photos of the Air Jordan 6 'UNC' Releasing in time for March Madness.

Throughout the years, Jordan Brand has regularly paid homage to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina, with special colorways of Air Jordan Retros. More recently, Air Jordans 1, 3, 4, 6, and 9 have all been released with splashes of the school’s famous University Blue, a trend that will continue into next year.

According to zSneakerheadz, another “UNC” Air Jordan 6 Retro is on the way, this pair is even more aligned with the Tar Heels’ iconic scheme. This pair will reportedly inherit “Carmine” color blocking, which means a white-based shoe filled with University Blue and bearing navy blue trim. zSneakerheadz also reports that a sample version of the shoe exists with black in place of navy, so the final execution of this upcoming retro is still to be determined. Lastly, we see the patch on the heel that’s been associated with school-inspired releases such as the “Oregon” and “Michigan” Air Jordan 5s, as well as the recently released “UNC” Air Jordan 4.

An official release date hasn’t been announced for the “UNC” Jordan 6, but the expectation is a Spring 2022 drop-in full-family sizing. We’ll keep you posted with updates in the months ahead.

UPDATE (12/20): Today, Jordan Brand has officially unveiled the UNC-inspired “University Blue” Air Jordan 6 in its Spring 2022 Air Jordan Retro Preview. The shoe is expected to release on March 5 in full-family sizing with the adult sizes retailing for $200.

UPDATE (01/13): Still on target for an expected release in early March as the NCAA tournament kicks off, we now have the best look yet at the “UNC” Air Jordan 6 thanks to images from @solesbyzay. Check back soon for release date updates as they’re subject to change.

UPDATE (02/16): Official images of the “UNC” Air Jordan 6, which is still expected to release on March 5 for $210.

10 killed, 73 shot in bloodiest week of the year

CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS)  - A  violent weekend  capped off Chicago's bloodiest week of the year. From April 30 through May 6, 10 people were killed and 73 others were wounded in gun violence across Chicago. This latest outbreak of violence underscores how gunmen are literally getting away with crimes up to and including murder. Overwhelmed police detectives have 155 currently active investigations of 2018 homicides, while "solving" or "clearing" 27 cases, barely 17 percent.  The clearance rate has dropped steadily in recent years, leaving thousands of murders in the last decade unsolved and thousands of killers still on the street. Chicago Police used to solve more than 60 percent of murders, back in the 1990s. New York City cops still do. But the number of CPD detectives has been cut since then.  As Mayor Rahm Emanuel prepares to run for re-election, he'll swear in 100 new detectives later this month and promises 100 more by the end of the year. Rapper XXXTentacion (real name: Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy), who was  shot to death  at the age of 20 Monday, wasn’t yet a household name. But he was well on his way.
